About Esperanza Creeger

Esperanza Creeger Greetings Art Lovers! During the day, I am a left-brained numbers cruncher. At night, however, the right brain commandeers my passion for painting. Seascapes...and dogs, mostly. I owe my evolution to artistic bliss to a handful of people who need mentioning here. First, to my old friends Eric Mansfield Emert and Mary Griffin for squirreling away a mystery box in my moving pod when I moved to Phoenix, AZ from Richardson, TX many years ago. Last year, in October 2017, I finally closed my dusty storage unit and discovered, hidden deep in the bowels of that cavernous space, a large, taped-up box. Much to my delight, the battered box contained a treasure trove of art supplies, tubes upon tubes of acrylic and oil media, and brushes of every size. I felt like I had won the lottery! Interestingly, Eric's Father, Pat Emert (deceased), was a locally famous artist in the Dallas area. I recognized the contents of the mystery box had been bequeathed to me by the son. A touching moment, indeed. Observing my excitement at the treasure, my awesome roommate, Joanne, purchased an early Christmas gift for me - a professional artist's easel (whoa!). Like that, I was back on track and it was full steam ahead for some seeeriousss creativity. Since my skills were a tad rusty, I studied technique and applied the refreshed skills to blank canvas. A great coworker of mine (and professional comedian), Gene Moore, invited me to a charity event to benefit pet shelters. As event host, Gene auctioned off paintings created by school children to raise funds. I promised Gene an original seascape for their next charity event in September. But before handing over the seascape, I painted a random doggy onto the seascape. With that, the “My Dog and The Sea Art” website was born. I owe you cool cats my thanks and gratitude. So, thanks. And I am grateful.
